WaterISAC is a not-for-profit organization authorized by Congress and established by utilities for utilities with the fundamental purpose of securing water systems and insuring continuous utility operations in the face of all hazards. As the only centralized, real-time information resource of its kind, WaterISAC serves to support public, facility and environmental safety to respond to domestic and international threats, incidents, and natural disasters.
Authorized by Congress, WaterISAC was established in support of Presidential Decision Directive 63, Executive Order 13231, and Homeland Security Presidential Directive 7. WaterISAC represents an active partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Homeland Security to best assist the drinking water and wastewater sectors. WaterISAC proudly serves over 12,000 water and wastewater professionals nationwide. It is overseen by a Board of Managers comprised of drinking water and wastewater utility executives.
